Picture settings to view sky news

Pardon the ignorance but have just got widescreen JVC and when view sky news \ sports the ticker at the bottom of the screen is cropped. Similar with various adverst where text at the bottom is not visiable

Have tried all avaliable settings on sky remote 16:9 , 4:3 etc , same with remote for TV , but no joy .

Also connected up to VCR + DVD if that makes any difference, connected wrong ?

Any help would be appreciated

try using your TV remote...there shold be some sort of "zoom" button or something similar. That should be what you're looking for
