I picked this gem of an album today and played it tnoght. If the record saw more than 10 plays, I'd be surprised. It was soo quiet...but now to the real meat.

This recording is stellar!!! If you want to show off your turntable, this album will make hardcore non believers of vinl beleive again. Its dynamic, her voice so life like, there's bass in spades, clean and tight, and the treble is clean without sound brittle. I also have the CD version and in this case, the vinyl version beats it hands down. Dam what a good recording.

Thanks for the recommendation. I saw that at a local store and will now go back to pick it up (if it's still there).

... and I will specifically 'ask' for it. I have looked on my own with no luck.

I picked up a MINT used copy of the first album on vinyl this past January and was blown away by how great it sounds, an amazing recording; the CD is recorded well too, but it's not analog that much is clear.

The vinyl copy is definately a reference level recording that you can use to judge all other recordings by. My jaw hit the floor when I listened to it the first time. Even on my modest system, it is simply stunning.

Never heard the vinyl but finally purchased the cd six months or so back. One of the best sounding cds I own. I remember when that first came out I hated that single, "Fast Car". Now I absolutely am blown away by the enire disc.

I have her first three albums on vinyl (self-titled, Crossroads and Matters of the Heart)-all have excellent mastering and sound superb. My copy of her debut album is a limited edition pressed on "audiophile vinyl" (I think it might have been a promotional pressing run for DJs), which has the same translucent appearance (when held up to a light) as the original Mobile Fidelity half-speed mastered pressings that were manufactured for MoFi by JVC back in the late 70s and early 80s.

Finally got it and it's a good sounding record. It's really amazing what they can do when they want to. The funny thing is that the really good sounding records I have send the Watts Dust Bug sailing across them where the lesser or more worn records have the Dust Bug just keeping pace with the tone arm.

... if only these albums that I get would sound as clean and crackle free as CD's ... :p :D

I must replay this album again. I haven't played it since I posted this thread.

That album makes me feel good about my whole system. It also prompted me to get rid of Rock On by David Essex which is so poorly recorded that it makes my whole system sound like crap. I'm going to start getting rid of albums that I have no use for. The Music of Bulgaria might not see the sun set in my house. :D
