Phone sound to amplifier

Ok I have another question...

I thought this one would be a cinch, after getting it hooked up... but no it not work very well. Very poor sound.

Here's the deal: I have a little Radio Shack converter that plugs into a cellphone/house phone which converts 3.5mm conector to the standard headphone size. Then I have a conector that plugs into the standard and splits off into two rca female ends. 1 of course is the mic, and the other output audio. Well I taped off the end I don't need the mic in this case. So I split the other RCA Male to 2 male ends. Then I take these male ends and plug that into the amplifier.

This is what I get... Kinda of a spark sound everyonce in a while. I have to crank the amps volume real high, which causes distortion... and the sound still sucks.

What am I doing wrong?

What I'm doing is basically the long way to do this product... would this product do that much better? See this link... now I don't have rights on this site to actually put a link but put it together and you can go to the site.

actually in looking at that product again... I would still have to tape off one end, and split the other one, because one end would still be the mic end.

What exactly are you trying to do? Trying to play music stored on the phone through a receiver?

A cell phone is always transmitting. This high power transmission near a receiver or computer speakers can cause a distortion sound. You may be able to put the phone in "airplane" mode to stop this kind of noise.

>>What are you trying to do?----
I want to send the sound from a phone-broadcast to the receiver.

Our church has people on phone tie-in. Instead of wearing a head-set, or using a crappy phone that has a loudspeaker... I want to direct the sound through my sound system.

--Cell phones always broadcasting--
It also did not work well with a housephone... Although the house phone I'm speaking of was also wireless.

The snapping noises go away when you plug the cell-phone in... It must be a grounding issue. However, the sound still sucks.
