Hello everyone,
I was thinking about buying a Phillips Pronto universal remote. The remote is $399.99 and the programming is $ 299.00. I would also be buying a Niles Audio MS200B surface mount IR sensor,Niles Audio MSU480 IR repeater sys (single zone) , Niles MFI, IR microflasher and a Con flasher (6units). Do any of you guys have any experience with these components? I want to hook it up to my audio/video system and the lights in my theater room. I would appreciate any input good or bad. I haven't made my mind up 100% yet so anything would be helpfull!

Save the $299 for programming and do it yourself, pronto's are very easy to program. just download the software from remotecentral.com and your set.

I am surprised the programming would cost you even close to that, it's something that a smart 10 year old can do with a computer and a couple of hours.

Max,
Thanks for the advice. Now how about for the performance of what I've suggested. Has anyone used the Pronto if so, how does it work? Is it a good choice or should I be looking at a different remote?
Thanks,Topper

I've had one for 4 weeks now - what a great unit. Bought on eBay (US) for 1/2 the price they were wanting down here, and secondhand to boot. Before it arrived I downlaoded all the manuals, latest firmware etc. etc. and once it arrived had it programmed in around 4 hours. Keeping the ccf file on a pc makes changes so much easier, just do the changes, dowload to the unit, test and repeat if necessary until you've go it right. Making changes is an absolute breeze once you get the hang of the programmming, layouts etc. and with RemoteCentral there are heaps of layouts, codes, help etc that make owning one of these even easier.

I got it setup with bitmaps for station logos, macros to perform device changes according to what you want to watch (TV,DVD, Tuner)

Can't live without it now :)
