Im just wondering about a problem I am having with my new t.v.. I bought this t.v. about a month and a half ago. I have a digital cable box from Cox Digital Cable company. A little over a week ago, I found that my remote from the cable company would no longer work (i.e. change the channel, or pull up the t.v. guide). If I turn the actual t.v. off, the box would change the channel (because I could see the number scrolling up) but as soon as I turn the t.v. back on, BAM nothing. Cox and Philips both did not really have any answers for a few day's, but then a Philips tech guy say's try putting some component cables on. I put these on and presto the thing works. He says that I need to downgrade HDMI cables (1.3 to 1.1/1.2) for the problem to be fixed. How is this?

P.S. This is not actually me, it is a friend of mine from work. He asked me what I thought, and I had no idea, so I told him to ask on here.

That should not be so, as according to the regs there is backward compatibility. But who knows with HDMI?
