Phase Technology CI-20VII 5.1 In-wall Speakers Reviewed

This is because he has the ability to install them without destroying his living room walls in the process. To test in-wall speakers he built 'portable' walls that are constructed like a typical residential wall, with studs spaced 16" apart on-center and covered with 0.5" drywall. For this review, we asked him to review a Phase Tech multi-channel in-wall speaker system consisting of five two-way speakers. Multiple speaker walls require a lot more work, but in this era of multi-channel audio we felt it made more sense.

[Read the Review]

Whoa! Bad links to the 2nd page. It links to the Logitech Z-5500 system. Glad to see you're reviewing Phase Tech. Hopefully you can get the PC system in for review.

Now that I've read the whole review....

Seems short. Most of the reviews here tend to be much more thorough. I know he isn't one of your normal writers, but seriously. Two pages. I wrote almost as much after I listened to a pair of speakers for 1.5 hours in a dealer room. It wasn't low quality, I just expect a higher level of detail here.

Hmmmm

After reading the article, I'm not sure whether that system includes the sub for $1000 or not. If not, then I think this is to high for speakers with no box. Much cheaper to make. Plastic frames, etc. That's $200 a piece. I'm sure they're not using 14ga coils, metal caps, and high end resistors in the xover so I'm not very convinced on the value that you assigned to these. Regards, Paul.
