Guys; I have been out of town for a while and just got home and powered up all my gear to watch a movie... problem is I get video but no sound! My processor is the Integra 9.8 and it is being powered by my outlaw amp. Even stranger; e/think worked like a charm b4 I left. I checked connections all is good and even went as far as to manually trip the surge as my amp has its own dedicated line... still nothing. What has me more concerned is I can't get the Integra to even do a speaker tone check... in other words dead silence. I am missing something here very basic... The amp/processor are both on but just not sending the sound to my speakers. Thxs in advance for any help!

Hi jamie; thxs for the message... after checking everthing again; I realized I did not check the trigger switch on the amp... I unplugged it; plugged it back in and presto... sound! Very strange though... cause through my trial/error the amp was on... but for some reason it was not powering my speakers. I have no idea as to why this happened! Hopefully all is well now

THANK YOU!

With you being gone there could of been a power outtage and your AVR was just protecting itself.I am glad its all worked out for you....

My Rotel amp has a light on all the time as long as it has electrical power. When my 9.8 triggers the amp on, there are additional lights that go on for a second then fade. These lights will light up and fade again when the 9.8 triggers the amp off but the power light remains lit even though the amp is technically off. Maybe your amp has a similar feature?

Hey buddy,

Seems it's always a stupid thing that we forgot to check. But in this case the trigger switch did trigger the problem!

On your DTC-9.8, do you have a delay for the trigger?
And is the trigger set for the appropriate device?
Lastly, make sure that the trigger cable is well connected all the way inside the jacks at both ends.

Glad you get your audio back. It was a TRIGGER thing that trigger the problem.

Cheers,

Bob
