Hey, I'm hoping someone can help me!

I have a Sony KDF E50A12U 50" RP-LCD TV which I'd like to connect to my pc.

I have a GeForce 5500 FX Graphics card too, with VGA and DVI outputs. The VGA one I use for my monitor.

I bought a DVI - VGA Cable which I figured would work fine because I had a spare DVI port on my graphics card and there's a VGA input on the side of the TV, but I don't even get a picture at all. It just says, in the top corner PC (the connection the Sony uses) and No Sync.

I tried using the nVidia control panel to detect the displays and I have my monitor and a TV.

I can't remember exactly the setting I went into in the control panel cause I've come out of it now in sheer frustration, but it has a wee dropdown box asking how I want to connect to the TV and it says S-Video (as the only option, so entirely useless being in a dropdown) and besides that there's a little warning letting me know that there's nothing connected to my S-Video connection.

I'd like to be able to select the DVI port as my output to the TV but it doesn't seem to want to let me.

Hopefully there's some way someone out there can help me! If you need any more information, don't hesitate to ask!

Thanks in advance!

Right click on the desktop>properties>display settings> and then click on the secondary monitor and enable it>you can then set the correct resolution. You don't need any wizards of any kind to do this and I would try and AVOID using the Nvidia control panel for it.

I tried that first, before resorting to the nVidia control panel. It still doesn't work. The screen is just blank.

I installed a program called UltraMon to see if I could have any further luck with that, but no joy. Exactly the same thing happens. Blank screen.
