I'm sure this is probably a very basic question for you all. I have been asked to help broadcast our church meeting to YouTube and Facebook. I've done that but I have a couple of older person who don't use computers. I'd like to be able to hook up the audio out on my PC to my Phone 3.55 mm jack so they can listen to the audio as it streams using OBS.

My problem, I'm not audio person. I'm assuming I need an adapter to transfer the audio out line to the mic input on the phone. Can anyone send me to the right cable adapter I need?

Audio line out in the form of a 3.5mm jack is easily adapted....not sure what your question is if audio only. Iphones with the stupid lack of analog outputs could be an issue, tho :)

This post makes no sense. You can not connect the audio out of a computer, to a phone usually That jack, if your pone has one, most do not now, is for headphone listening.

It seems to me, you want to go the other way round and connect the output of your phone, to an audio in on your computer.

I am in the Apple universe an my phone has no audio jacks. I have just found out that a few Android phones have a TRRS, socket and do have in and out on the same plug. I had not heard of this before. If you are lucky enough to have one of those phones, then this is how.

If you do not have one of those Andoid phones, then there is no way to connect an audio out to your phone.

We need to know a lot more about your set up.

No I want to be able to connect the Audio out from the PC to mic pickup on the Audio jack on my Android phone. Think of it this way. If you had a headset that you can use to make phone calls, there is a 3.55 mm jack plug that had a audio in. I want to skip the headset and go right to the line out on my PC

You can make your own, but you can buy all sorts of XLR to mic input connections online for the major phone brands. @TLS Guy - You should know there is always some sort of adapter!!!

For example, if you had a iPhone with a lightning port...

There were several other options when I did a quick Google search. Getting audio out of your PC is also super easy to do, but it depends on what software is in use, etc. I would generally take the audio from the entire system into a standard mixer, then I would have multiple balanced audio outputs which I can feed into a computer or a streaming device, or to a phone if I wanted to. They would be in a default balanced audio format and be ready to go.

adapters and "smart"-phones aside, I think the most practical way to do for a less than a very technical person is to let someone else manage the audio/video integration.
My suggestion specifically is to broadcast the meeting using something like Zoom, Teams, or Google Meet.
All three would allow participants to join either from PCs, tablets, smartphones,s or just dial-in from the phone for audio-only.
You could sign-up for a free Google Workspace trial to get dial-in features of Google Meet.

I figured out a way. I'm going to use a 3.5 mm breakout plug and some replacement 4 pole wires and just make my own.
The level of signal that a condenser mic puts out is much smaller than the audio line out on a PC. I would be very surprised if this worked without overdriving the input on the phone. It would help to know how the members are connecting. Are they using smartphones that could connect to a video meeting with audio only, or are you trying to set up a conference call via your phone so that people can listen in over land lines?

I think that @BoredSysAdmin hit the nail on the head really. Instead of trying to figure out a phone solution, having a fully integrated conferencing solution that people could join via their PC or their phone would make a lot more sense overall. It doesn't mean you can't provide the other solutions, but it certainly gives a solution which many people have gotten more comfortable with over the last year and takes the burden of figuring out a phone/audio solution off the techie every time you do stuff. That makes a lot more sense IMO.
I know Zoom and Teams offer the ability to place calls with zero ability for outside participants to take part. They can only listen and watch what is going on.

Look into conference room cameras- Logitech is now making so many that they gave up on their remote control business, which was very popular.
