Excuse fellas but how do u connect a passive subwoofer with one set of spring clips inputs to an av receiver?

You don't. You need to add an amp in between and use the sub pre-out from the receiver.

A Behringer A500 is an affordable amp, $180 or so, if your sub is 8 ohms as the amp can be bridged.
