Hello all my question may sound stupid but can passive radiators on my sub blow up...sometimes they move a lot in and out..i know the seismic 12 have a 1500watts amp with 4500 peak so i guess its normal for the passive radiators to move a lot in and out??

The only way you can really damage a passive radiator is if you cause over-excursion to the point that the surround stretches or separates from the driver or the basket. There are no electrical or magnetic items in it to overheat or short.

i know the cone excursion for the driver is 2'' or 3'' but i dont know for the passive radiators...but i guess its practicaly impossible to blow them then!

Passive radiatiors can be damaged in suspension only (in terms of use). Most passive commecial designs will have limiting built into the amplifier to prevent damage. Though I suspect the woofer would ve damaged before the passive radiator.

The suspension can be damaged through the spider seperating from the cone/neck joint or from the spider mounting platform. It can also be damaged by the surround seperating from the cone or chassis.

sorry but what do you mean by 'the suspension'?

The suspension refers to the spider & surround which 'suspend' the cone in the air (on a passive radiator), or the coil & former in the magnetic gap on a woofer.

Please see the subwoofer terminology link in my signature. While you are at it check the Subwoofer Myths link also. They will help you on your way to a better understanding of "sub woofing" ;)

The suspension would refer to the "soft" parts that make up a woofer/subwoofer passive radiator.
