I didn't even know there was one out till someone told me today it grossed something like $28k. Might be so bad that could be fun to watch.

Is she naked in it? If so I can save $11.50 and just surf the web :-D

Yep. There's only one Paris Hilton movie worth watching and I already have that one on DVD. ;)

But I think the OP is referring to The Hottie and the Nottie. It even sounds stupid. She was pimping it on Letterman a couple of weeks ago.

Hmm, maybe it's direct to DVD so I can waste a netflix streaming hour on it....I sure as heck won't waste a slot in my queue for it.

That's the one. I thought my bud was pulling my leg when he told me today until I took a quick look online.

No, it was in theaters and is already considered one of the biggest flops of the year. Definitely more Not than Hot...

I heard a report that said as it currently stands, each theater has profitted $72 gross for the production company. I bet those seven people want their money back. :D

Good god, when will it end... When will Paris wake up and realize that nobody really cares? She's just the current novelty in pop-culture, a means for a quick headline on TMZ. I can't imagine looking back on a life so shallow and deprived.

Other than money, she has nothing that makes her a "star". No talent, no morals, no brains. She doesn't seem to realize that she is a joke, not an idol.

The question is: When will we as a society as realize that acting as if we care only fuels people like this.

I could care less if she shows up naked at my door. (OK, speaking hypothetically here). I don't want to give her the time of day.

I actually think she realizes EXACTLY what she is, and boy does she use it to make money. Quoting wikipedia here, but according to Forbes magazine "she earned approximately $2 million in 2003–2004,$6.5 million in 2004–2005, and $7 million in 2005–2006." This is from her modeling/acting/business "career", not just from inheritance trusts. She has had a line of purses, a wildly successful perfume line, shoes, hair extensions, clothing, and even a line of champagne.

I'm not going to say she's a role model for anybody, but the girl understands image, how to promote herself, and how headlines in the gossip mags translate into worldwide sales. I wouldn't go so far as to call her smart, but when it comes to her own image she's clearly not stupid.

It's not like society has changed.... people have always gawked at the rich and famous and gossiped about the intimate details of their personal lives (see: Henry VIII). The biggest difference is that today we have 24/7 media and the internet, and an industry 100% dedicated to pointing out the mistakes of celebrities, which make it easier for people to track the actions of the rich and famous. I think it's human nature to gawk and stare at that which we don't or cannot have. We can't act like this is a new phenomenon... it's just easier.

If she showed up naked at my door, it wouldn't be the time of day I'd give her, I can tell you that much...
