Anyone heard about this yet? I was just poking around today and happened upon the Paradigm site...I check up on things every now and again. And there sits a new product (at least, I think it's new...I've never heard of it). It seems pretty wild, from a spec/size standpoint. It says it's got a 650 RMS amp (1000 W peak), in an enclosure that's only ~13 x 11 1/2 x 11 1/2...and only weighs 29 lbs. (?) They claim the low frequency extension is down to 22hz. If all checks out, that seems like quite a wollup from such a little box.

Yeah, they have tested it in the AVtalk forum subwoofer tests. In North America its called the seismic 10 and 12. Good subwoofer, small aswell.

Edit: The North American version is a little different. The 10inch weighs 49pounds and has 1500wrms and 4500wpeak. It also goes down to 21hz.

It seems to be a good buy if you really need an ultra compact subwoofer, but there's no beating the laws of physics, the smaller the box the harder it is to produce loud/deep bass.

The measurements seen here indicate it only extends to 25Hz linearly, but it really seems to stay linear above that into very loud volumes...but the group delay graphs seem to indicate it's a bit slow in the lowest frequencies, so don't expect tight deep bass

No! the Seismic is not the same product.
The Ultracube is below the Seismic in the product line. (the Seismic weighs 49 lbs whereas the ultracube is 29 lbs). The seismic 10 has been out for a while, the Ultracube JUST came out.

Agreed. I don't think I'll be swapping out my SVS PB10 for it any time soon. I think I was more just pointing it out marveling at what they claim it can produce for how small it is. I was thinking that if anyone out there's got a WAF to deal with, this could be a contender. Not that it's the same, but seems like they were shooing for a Sunfire True Sub Super Junior style sub...small box, huge amp.

I listened to one of these for a little while yesterday. Unfortunately I don't know my subs very well, so I was wondering if anyone else has listened to or has one to comment on it. I liked it and thought it would work nicely in my small apartment, but, like I said, subs are not my cup of tea.

Anyone have any comments??

Let me try to revive this old thread…….

I am also looking for a compact sub for my tiny apartment (12ft x 15ft) and my local tweeter showed me the Ultracube last week. I will go visit the shop again this weekend and try to do some listening with my own material. The only review (more like performance data….) I can find is from avtalk forum. The group delay result looks quite suspicious……. should this be of any concern? Am I going to be better off with Seismic 10? (assuming I can fork out the extra cash……..)

I do 50/50 music vs HT……. Any help appreciated =)

Either way...Paradigm is one of the few companies that has broken the mold and is revolutionizing the way subs are built and perform. I have the Servo15 and it is a beast with extension down to 12Hz. I am pleased and impressed every time I listen to my Paradigm system. Specifications are one thing...performance (and accuracy) another. I believe Paradigm comes through on all accounts, and is well worth looking into if you're in the market. Happy listening!
