Folks, I got out to see this film. As I expected, it was much better than the first. Really am glad I got to see it. The style was very similar to the first. However, I found myself enjoying it more than the first.

The audio and visual effects were very well done. The acting is not going to win any awards per se, but it sure was entertaining throughout. Some quirky humor here and there was a nice touch. There even was some eye candy, which I must say, is always a plus in my book.

In closing, I really liked this film. It gave me exactly what I was expecting-nothing more nothing less. More specifically, it was much better than the first. I can easily give this film a solid B+. There is no doubt in my mind that there will be a third part to this film. Personally, I can't wait to see it!

Cheers,

Phil

Nice! I might have to check it out for myself now. I read quite a lot of news about this movie on Facebook. Just judging from what I've seen, it didn't thrill my shorts. This wouldn't be the first time a sequel turned out to be a joke.

Glad you say this isn't so!

Edit: Check this out: http://www.imdb.com/video/imdb/vi517736729/

You are correct in that many sequels turn out to be rather disappointing. However, in this case it is the other way around. That is to say, that I really liked the sequel much better than the first. Right now, I do not want to give too much away as I always try to keep it in general terms. No sense in spoiling it for those whom have not seen it yet. BTW, that is a cool link. Much better than what I have seen thus far with respect to the movie trailer.

Sounds like a good plan if you ask me. In fact, I would have done the same thing, but timing became more the issue really. Be sure to post your thought once you do see it. Have you seen the first one yet? If not, I highly recommend it because it will all make more sense if you do. Personally, I really did not care too much for the first one.

From what I understand about the first one it would be pretty tough to be worse than it, so....

Yeah, the first one was not all that great. However, the second one is significantly better. I am not saying it is a "must see" per se, but I sure enjoyed it. I could see someone waiting to see it once it becomes available for home use. Certainly have seen far worse......LOL!!!!!!!

LOL....well for some reason the first one just did not do it for me. Of course, there was a lot of hype about it being the "scariest" movie ever too. Maybe I was expecting too much which would not be a first for me......LOL! But , the second really is significantly better imho. Both have similar styles. A friend of mine literally jumped out of her seat several times throughout the film. I have been to the movies many times with her and never seen her do that. Sure was hilarious though seeing her do that. Anyways, I don't think you would regret seeing it given that you liked the first one. Like always, if you do go see it , then please be sure to share your thoughts.

You got that right. The first one SUCKED!!! Not scary at all. They suckered me in on the first one, no way I'm falling for that again.

People have had really differing reactions to the first one. I've heard of people having to leave the theater, or weeping in fear. Others go the opposite way entirely, and think it was boring, or funny, or whatever.

Me? PA was the first film in many, many years to actually scare me. I thought I was going to throw up by the end from the anxiety.

I saw the first one at home. That's how I'll see the second one. I think these films might work BETTER at home, as they're basically presented as "home movies".

Hey, I agree the first one sucked. However, Part II. is much much better. It also explains a bit more about Part I. which I thought was interesting. Like you, I was kind of suckered into seeing the first one, but gladly went to see the second. Lets just say it delivered.

Very interesting perspective. Once Part II. come out on home video, be sure to share your thoughts. Inquiring minds want to know.

I didn't think it was THAT bad. Though I was a little intoxicated while watching it at a Alamo Drafthouse Cinema.

You want horrible, watch Machte

Ouch, I had a feeling Machete was not going to be very good. It looks to be cheaply made imho. The trailer sure did not do too much for me at all. Was it really that bad though?

Yeah, but didn't Machete have Lindsay Lohan naked? That'd alone would be better than anything in P.A.

I MIGHT see the second one on video. NO WAY would I go to a theater for it though.

If you didn't understand that the "cheaply made" thing was part of the joke, then you didn't get the movie. It's supposed to be funny. It's a blood and guts comedy.

I loved it.

Not my kind of funny I suppose. Honestly, I really did think it was one of the worst movies I've seen in awhile.
