Parallel/Series

Hi all, I wanting to make some mtm style speakers for my HT. The woofers are 8ohm with an 87dB sensitivity rating and the tweeter is 6ohm with a 90dB sensitivity. How should I wire the woofers? In series I'll probably need to L-pad them and my system nominal impedance will be approx 4ohm, which means it may be hard to find a suitable receiver??? In series the system nom impedance will be 6ohms?? but what happens to the sensitivity?? Any ideas will be much appreciated.

If you are talking about raw drivers the impedance as seen by the amp is
related to the x-over not the drivers in particular.

The issus as I see it is the sensitivity twixt the two drivers.
You'll need a "notch" fitler to lower the tweeters sensitivity
to better match the woofer section's sensitivity.

Add up resistance in series and half the lowest for parallel
(althought that's a little too general)

So the point is your total ohm load is not sole'ly a deriviative
of the driver. There is addtitional resistance - inductance - capaticence
from the cross over....
