Could someone give me the rundown on studio60 v2 compared to Monitor 9 v3?
I know I have to use my own ears but can you narrow things down for me? What should I listen for?

Really its what sounds best to you and your ears . I personally would take the Studio v2 over the monitor but thats just me and my taste but the Paradigm Monitor line does sound very good . I guess I wasnt to much help but I tryed :)

Some things maybe to listen for is one may sound more fatiguing then the other for your taste. Find out which ones distorts less to your ears at the max volume you would ever enjoy . Bring some of favorite CDs and listen to both and see which one puts a :D on your face . If you can do a side by side comparison and not have to walk from one room to another even better and make sure if you can there running a comparable receiver or amps .

I see you have 60's. How would you describe their sound? I've heard the 9's can be boomy. I like plenty of bass but I like it tight. I prefer not to use my sub for 2 channel listening. Are you satisfied with your 60's in this regard? Would you say the sound is forward like the 9's?
I cannot listen to these together but I can take my own receiver, which I will do.
Anything you can add would be appreciated.

Those are hard questions because what I like and you like or what I hear from the same speaker could sound different . I normally have all my speakers set to small so my bass comes mostly from my sub but at one time I ran them on the large setting so most of the bass signal went to speakers and to me they sounded like they have solid bass, not boomy and very tight . You have to understand though and from what your saying I think you'd like the studio 100's probably more if your not going to run a sub. To me the 60's have great mid and highs but arent really known for there big bass and isnt one of there selling points. Like I said they sound great to me but you might not like them, you really have to hear them your self . with a good amp/AVR you can really play them loud and they stay clean but keep in mind again it depends on the avr your running them with as far as how high you can crank them up , but i've never heard any distortion from mine at any level and i've had them pretty loud . So my advice is take your avr and go listen to them and let me know what you think .
