Glad you are happy with your choice. Sounds like you have a good start. Now you have options down the road. If you ever feel the 20's are lacking you can add 100's in the future and move the 20's to the back. If the 20's do the job for you, you can save some money and get the 10's for rears later. Beware the upgrade bug! :) It struck me this week. Enjoy your system!
Congrats on your upgrade!
Indeed its just a good start oppman. Having the 10's on rear was not considered before. Do you think it is better than having a pair of ADP's there? But if ever the 60's become available here, then that would be my choice over the 100's. It's too early to tell though. Another upgrade is having an amp first. An Emotiva perhaps if i could get one here.

I was interested in the Studio 60 V5's but I cant audition them and cant find a review, What did you think of them? In comparison with say Polk and Klipch what would sound better for hometheter SCI-FI and Classical music? thanks for any opinions. Oh anyplace to get em online?
I'm sorry i was not able to audition the 60's as there was none available here. We have no Polk and Klipch here either. I was able to audition a B&W but it was the 683 and i didn't like how it sounds on its high & mid frequency range . So i settled for the Studio 20's instead and crossed it over with an SVS sub. HT-wise i am very satisfied with it.
Others may be able to chime in re: your query.

I think it's best to go separates when possible. I become more convinced of this daily. My desire for an 885 pre-pro is pretty high. I also think for those with wives you need to look at a consumer level amp for power. I know I've preached pro-amps, but the wife doesn't want to turn the thing off and on. So Now I'm gonna have to change up my setup. I'd suggest the XPA-5 from Emotiva. Though I may find a good solution to this problem. I doubt it.

I wasn't thinking. 10's vs ADP's depends on your room setup. Because of window placement and a wall cutout between the living room and dining room ADP's aren't really an option for my theater system. They would have to be mounted at ceiling level. I'd have to go with 10's or 20's. If your room will accomodate ADP's they might be a good choice. I've read opposing opinions, so I think it's one of those personal preference issues. If you ever get 60's or 100's, then moving the 20's to the back makes sense from a $ standpoint. I'm pretty confident you will be pleased with the 20's for a while.

If you decide to go with an external amp later, I think you will be pleased with Emotiva. I love mine. I'd just like to trade my XPA-2 for an XPA-5 instead of running the center/rears off the AVR. If I had the rack space, I'd just add an XPA-3. This will definately have to wait though.

My upgrade bug was costly. S8's in maple will be replacing my S2's. The good part is that I will be done buying speakers for a very long time. I just got tired of incremental improvements and the hassle of selling and shipping what I was replacing. I went from Klipsch towers to Paradigm Studio 100's to Signature S2's and now to the S8's. Spending more now probably will save me money in the future (I hope).

The no online sales policy is to protect dealer territory. This way you can't play one dealer off against another unless you physically drive to them. I've heard you have to take Paradigm products to the dealer you bought them from to get warranty service as well.

Are there any dealers within a reasonable driving distance of your location? Otherwise you could watch Audiogon for a pair to show up. The drawback is that they will not come with a warranty even if they are new. I would recommend listening to them to see if you like them. Not everyone will have the same tastes/experiences as you. I would never buy any speakers without hearing them first unless there was a clear return policy. I take recommendations as a starting point for what to audition and then make my own decisions.

Thanks. I do the same I ask, and listen, listen, listen. then make an educated guess since I cant actually see or hear the component myself. then i make my best eduacated decision. I havent ever read anyone say anything bad about parajidm before. I will watch that site you said. I saw a pair on ebay 60v5's new for 1699 dont know if thats a good price or not. I'm looking for basically something better than my Infinity 50 Beta's for HT mainly and clear warm music second with no really Hi pictches. Thanks
