Hi,I had a servo 15 and was very happy with it.I sold my system last month and now going to rebuild.I bought the 20's v3 and the cc470.I'm wondering about the new servo 15.My last sub was the older version and I'm wondering what sub is better?I also can get a good deal on the pw2200 but have never compaired the two,I'm guessing the servo is much better?

Re:Servo-15

The new Servo-15 has been improved since the version 2 model. It now sports a Class D amplifier instead of the older Class A/B. What that adds up to is more power. The new added power comes in handy since the new driver is over built in comparison to the older model. I have owned both the version 2 and 3, and in my opinion the version 3 (new model) hits just that little bit harder. One thing to consider is that the new version 3 also had a major price increase. It might not be one of the best "bang for your buck" subs on the market anymore, but it sure performs !

The PW2200 does come close to your older Servo as they have the same amplifyer. The new Servo has more power and as RDL mentioned does "hit harder". You may want to check out the Siesmic subs as well from paradigm. I actually prefered the Siesmic 12 over the Servo due to it's size advantage. It's 14" cubed and absolutely rocks. I'll be upgrading my PW2200 for this one soon :)

I was under the impression that the new Servo is the v2, while the older one was the v1. Maybe I'm mistaken...but I didn't think that there was a v3. The v2 just came out in August of 2004 and msrp's for $2200 US.

Thanks for the replys,I'm guessing you guys are talking about the reference 15 and not the signiture servo 15?I can get the reference servo 15 for $1199 cdn. at my local store.I was going for the pw2200 for $799 but the servo isn't too much more.

We're definitely talking about the Reference Servo. $1199 cdn is a pretty damn good price for the v1. I absolutely love mine and haven't heard much that rivals it. Our room is quite large, too, at about 24x22x2-story vaulted ceilings, and the Servo does an amazing job with that space.

I just called two days ago for the price,I'm guessing that's for the v2 servo 15.Do they still sell the v1?I can get it for $1199 = tax(17%),That's for brand new in the box,it retails here for $1799.

Some shops will still sell off whatever v1 inventory they have, but most are just carrying the v2's. The v2 msrp's for $2200 and I believe that the v1 msrp'd for about $1650-1750 depending on the finish. I actually got mine for a steal from a shop in Chicago that happened to have a lightly used v1. If you can get either one for $1199, that's a fine price IMO.
