mike c Audioholic Warlord Sep 15, 2006 #2 if its free ... then it beats every other sub for bang for the buck! here's a test of the PDR-12 (10 should be similar but of course 1 step lower) http://www.avtalk.co.uk/forum/index.php?t=msg&th=13930&start=0&rid=14&SQ=1127556373

If I had to pay for a sub, I would choose another brand. But the price is right and may work well for your needs. I have a PDR-8 gathering dust. Nick

Hey man I dont want to rain on your parade so to speak BUT at one time I owned a PDR-12. It absolutely sucked!!!!!!!!!! All kinds of chaffing sounds even at low volume levels. I took it back and got a PS1000 v.4 and it was so much better. I then bought (2) Acoustic Research ARPR808 8" powered subs and they walk all over the PS1000 inmho. I noticed you have them-what do you think about them???? I now own a Mirage S12 and must say I am very happy. Like you I also have a Pioneer 1015. Personally, I love my 1015.

Click to expand... I chose a PSB subsonic 5 over a PDR10 becasse I was buying a sub. PDR10 and the PSB were tied for music but the PSB had considerable nore grunt in HT applications. Now if I was given a PDR-10 instead of purchasing one, I would have smiled and not looked back. Congrats and enjoy. Its not often one gets a quality sub given to them for free

E eirepaul Audioholic Sep 19, 2006 #7 It's not a bad little sub I bought one a few years ago and I still use it in my secondary system. I've since upgraded to an SVS. The PDR-10 is a decent budget sub for a small system and your price was great!
