Sup fellas,
I've been reading these forums for quite some time now and now I would like to get some help from yall. I have recently purchased a pair of Paradigm Monitor 7's. I am mainly concerned with what receiver I should get to get the best out of them. I am mainly using them for movies and games, but also some music as well. I mainly want to get the movie theater experience with my receiver. I would really like the receiver to balance out the warmth, etc. as well. The room used for the theater is 12 by 20, with carpeted floors. I also have the Touch of Color Samsung 52' tv along with an XBox 360, PS3 for Blu-Ray, and Dish Network for watching tv. Which receiver should I go with to spend under $900 dollars. I had been reading reviews for Denon 1909, 2809 and Onkyo 606, 706 as well. Also was wandering if I should by the Monster power cleaner. SO to sum up my questions...1. What receiver should I buy 2. What extra components do I need besides speakers 3. What speaker wires should I buy. I tried to be detailed for yall and any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and have a great day.

Welcome to the forum Jack, the Onkyo 706 will meet your needs nicely. Looks like your set for source components and you can pick up good, inexpensive 14-gauge speaker wire at Lowes/Home Depot.

When you're ready to purchase a sub, plan on spending $400+ for a good sub.

Monster Power Cleaner = Waste of Money in most cases.

I recommend more Paradigm Monitor series speakers to round out your system if you are going for 5.1 or 7.1. My dad just recently upgraded to Monitor 9's for fronts, CC-390 for center (that thing is HUGE), and ADP-190s for surrounds, plus 2 UltraCube 10's for subs, plus a Denon 1909 receiver. It is for a dedicated HT (no music) and is great for that purpose. HD audio is full, clear, and neutral sounding. We have a decent Denon/Paradigm dealer here and have both found that Paradigm's performance-to-value ratio is tough to beat.
