I've had this one since it came out, but anime isn't always the best "Friday movie night" movie...so I finally got around to watching this last week. I have to say it was quite enjoyable; weird for sure, but entertaining. It has a semi-typical story as far as anime goes, but the visuals are the real draw here and they are absolutely stunning.

The story is relatively straight forward, a device is created that allows a person to "intrude" on another's dreams and actively interact, the intent being to help people deal with psychiatric issues. Naturally, there is always a way to use technology as a weapon, so it is stolen and used as such. The way the story is made most interesting is that it is often difficult to tell exactly what is reality and what is dream as the two start to blur more and more as the movie progresses. That blur does tend to become a bit confusing, but that is also what makes it such a roller coaster ride of a film.

I wouldn't say it is for everyone, but for Anime fans, this is a must see.
