ahh...good question...tough situation
At your distance, a larger screen size is definitely a big, big plus.
The biggest advantage of the V10 over the G10 is, IMO, the 96Hz mode for judder-less 1080p/24 playback. With Blu-ray as one of your main sources, this is kind of a big deal - but not actually huge in the grand scheme of things.
The anti-reflective screen is the same. The black levels are virtually identical. The G10 has fewer user controls to adjust the picture - but this isn't a big deal because, out of the box, it is really quite accurate. The V10 can be adjusted to be a bit more accurate thanks to having more picture controls, but unless you are using measurement equipment, you'd never actually be able to do it yourself anyway! If you're going to bring in an ISF technician, he can make the G10 just as accurate as the V10, so there is no real difference there in a practical sense.
As far as internet features go, they are the same.
So really, it comes down to one choice, IMO.
Do you want a 4" larger diagonal screen size, but you will have to watch 1080p/24 Blu-rays at 60Hz with 2:3 judder (or 48Hz with flicker)? Or do you want judder-free 96Hz, but a smaller screen?
Picture quality-wise, the G10 and V10 are extremely close - especially with an ISF calibration, in which case they are basically identical.
I can't make the decision for you, but I'll be honest: I think the larger 54" screen size is more important
in this case. We're all used to judder: it's not like it's going to ruin the movie for you! And you can try out the 48Hz mode on the G10 - some people are bothered by the flicker much more than others.
With the cost savings on the larger G10 model, you'll be able to fund most of your ISF calibration. And with that, the picture quality is basically identical. With 96Hz being the only real difference? I'd definitely say that a couple hundred bucks plus a larger screen size makes the 54" G10 the winner here.
Hope that helps!
