So, which is better? Chucked my old bedroom set. I am now looking for something in the 42" to 46" range. Hate to make the wrong purchase. Any other sets to consider in this price range? Thanks

The G10's biggest feature over the S1 is the THX mode. The THX picture setting is supposed to be very accurate but dim (for daytime watching). However, if you're looking for a bedroom set I'm guessing you'll be watching in the dark and the dimness won't be an issue.

That said, I went with the S1 series (mine's mostly for gaming in a room with windows) and some time with a calibration disc worked wonders. If you've got the money for it, go for the G10 or even V10. Otherwise, the S1 (with some calibration) does a wonderful job.

Just my 2 cents.

I would have to recommend the G10 to you -- I just put a 50" G10 in the bedroom and it is a great set for sure. I actually got somewhat of a bad taste in my mouth for Panasonic as I originally purchased a 50" S1 and it failed in less than 48 hours -- which I found extremely weird as my Panasonics have always been fantastic amd reliable sets...

That being said in the 42" or 46" size Pannies are winners. It should be noted the S1 G10 G15 amd V10 series all use the same panel -- they differ in the feature set, user controls, processing, and cetifications such as THX and such. So with proper set-up they should all perform fairly closely. Personally I would opt up to the G10 series which comes in both 42" and 46" flavors -- and as SopRage suggest the V10 series which are a very pretty looking set but those only start at 50" and are good deal more than the G series....

You won't be dissapointed any way you choose...

Seriously, I have no life.
The THX setting is dimmer because movie theaters are dark inside.
