Panasonic TH-PZ77U Wall Mount?

We just bought one! :) So far I have ordered the break-in DVD-R, HDMI cables from BJC and an Avia II disc. I plan to calibrate the set first and then run the break-in disc on my Denon 1920 @ 720p. Suggestions and comments are welcome.

Currently I'm looking for a wall mount. OmniMount and Sanus are my likely choices in the $150 or under range.

Thanks
Alex

Strangely enough we've just had a recent discussion on that over at HDD...

http://forums.highdefdigest.com/showthread.php?t=51196

The very last item on the page is a link to the mount that our company is working to standardize on. We tried about a dozen or so different mounts and the techs (installers) found them to be very easy to work with, while the price made us more competitive in the market.

For a DIY install, it'll be easier - and save you some green.

Thanks for the reply. The last link informed me that their site was being worked on. The link to HDD had a link to the same place that did work and I came up with this using their compatibility calculator.

It's most likely the same thing, just a different way to get there. That seems fine. The reason I mentioned Sanus is because a search took me to a thread where you mentioned that you liked them because of their tilt feature being very stable where a no-name brand needed to tightened down rather excessively.

I have a few days till my set up and break in discs arrive and then it'll take me another few days to get through that before I mount it. So this is the time for tips, tricks and suggestions.

That's the one! I copied and pasted the link from the bottom of the thread, but because these forums use 'shorthand' to write links, you get a shorthand link instead of the full link... and of course now I can't go back and edit my thread.

I am not unhappy with my Sanus mount, but I got it for my 60" Pioneer and while it was great for my 32" LCD display, the weight of the plasma is really tough on the mount and I am wishing for something a bit more solidly built. Not like I ever adjust the angle anyways!

The Peerless is just pretty easy to deal with and is a well engineered mount, especially for the money.

Thanks BMXTRIX,

I ordered that one yesterday after taking a cursory glance at their other Peerless offerings. Your participation saved me about $75 on the OmniMount that I was eyeballing on Amazon.

I'm due to pick up the TV this afternoon. I am really looking forward to this. I'll be taking the train in and out of Boston instead of driving so that I can save money and so that I can read the manual for a couple of hours a day until the various discs arrive. :)

Can you tell me a little more about the break-in DVD?
Thanks,

In the bottom right hand corner of that page is the Plasma Break In deal that you can get for $6.50 with Pay-Pal. The download is free. I just spent the money because I haven't got this computer thing mastered.

Majorloser recommended it to a member to try to correct image retention on a Samsung plasma. Bummer. Anyways, I trust his info to be good and am willing to jump through hoops to enjoy plasma PQ. Evidently you run this thing for 100 or 200 hours before you start playing Pong and your good to go. :D

You have a Panasonic too, right? Recently plasmas took a major bashing around here but then a different light was shed by Panasonic fans. I was mulling it over when I ended up in a tweeter by accident. Fortunately my girl is a real sucker for the "deal". Without her I would have walked out of there with just info.

It's funny you say that; I'm the same way.
I wouldn't have half the equipment I do, if it wasn't for my wife.
I'm always willing to walk away; on the other hand she thinks "It's cool we should get it"
OK, twist my arm.:D
