When I emailed Panasonic with the same question here is the response I got.

"Thank you for your e-mail. Please be advised that model TH-42PX20 is a 2004
model, and is current. Panasonic Canada Inc. is not marketing a TH-42PX25
model."

Sincerely,
Customer Care Centre

Hey bruZZI, what happened to Panasonic HDTV conversation forum? Out of the blue sky it disappeared without notice, It looks like they're restructuring the whole company. According to some inside infos quite a few executives got fired, they're trying to make the company lean and mean.

Hi Mr.T,

Nice to see you here at Audioholics (Didn't know it was you  )

I wasn't aware of the problems with the forum. I actually lost the link after having to reinstall Windows on my Computer several weeks ago. Can't remember the URL anymore.

Hopefully the'll do a better discussion forum (And use Vbulletin :D). Let me know if you hear any news.

I chose to get the TH-42PX20 over the TH-42PHD7UY because of the looks, the ability to plug my camera memory card in, and the inputs already attached.

I am beggining to think I made a mistake since one is the 7th generation and one is the 6th generation. I am surprised the site doesnt point out that fact.

Usually Panasonic releases new Models first in the US and couple weeks/months later in Canada. And It's been Consumer and then Industrial. The reason the 7th Generation consumer models are being delayed is because the "PD25" and "PX25" Models (both 6th G.) were released not so long ago. To comply with the FCC rules, all TVs (I believe 32" and bigger) had to have ATSC Tuner and Cable Card slot by the past July (2004). So the new Consumer Models should be coming by the end of the year/beginning of 2005 (Once Panasonic/Dealers get rid of the current Models). Not sure when they're going to be available in Canada.
