Up for grabs is a 7.1 100 wpc Panasonic receiver in black. It will handle 4 ohm loads. It is two years old and is in absolutely new condition. It comes from a smoke-free, pet-free, child-free home (sounds boring, eh?). It is complete with manual and all related documents, remote (batteries included, natch), antennae, and all original shipping box and packing.

Here is the link to the manual. http://service.us.panasonic.com/OPERMANPDF/SA-HE200.pdf

Cost $400 new. Asking $200, and purchase includes 30 day guarantee and a bonus incentive of a variety of new Alt. Rock/Country cds.

Good cheer.

How do you like your new set-up RJ? I noticed the Yammy Receiver back there, have you hooked up your new system yet?

Hey, WL. Yep, it has been hooked up for a week + now. I really note no particular difference, other than the slight power increase. (Now, if I ever want a divorce, I have the necessary audio power, lol. ;) ) I've found the YPAO, which was an attractor for me, didn't do a very good job. I had to hand tweak most of the speakers. Hookup wasn't as easy as the Panny, but the manual is a little better than the Panny's.

The Panny is a really good receiver, and I'll keep it for future uses if I don't get close to my asking price. :) (I'm more price flexible, though, after looking at those great reviews at epinions.com...many people seem to have gotten good sale prices on theirs. :( )

As far as the new speakers go....the jury is still out. I'm A-B'ing like a muthah. I'm trying to "get it" concerning really accurate speakers, which these are. One day the novice dust will fall from my body, lol. More ear/speaker break-in needs to be accomplished still. By the way, the Hsu STF-3 blends musically quite nicely with small monitor 75Hz and up speaks.

Hey RJ,
Is it still available?
Yeppers. It's just a-sittin' here waiting for a new, good home. I'm a little surprised, too. It's in mint shape and is a fine deal for someone who wants an inexpensive starter or second unit.

I would entertain offers.

How would this amp compare to a Yamaha RXV 492?

I could turn the money that I hopefully get selling my Boston Acoustics VR12 (in another thread) and buy this, and then sell the 492...

It does have 2x as much power per channel...

DrPantz:

This is a much superior/newer receiver than your Yammie. The RX-V492 is an older 5.1 DSP receiver. The Panasonic is a 6.1/7.1, Dolby Digital, DTS, etc. receiver. By the way, it drives my speakers absolutely as well as my new RX-V2500. But the Panasonic doesn't have the extra zone capabilities (it does B speakers) of my 2500, or the YPAO feature.

You are right. This one has power to spare for most speakers and as I mentioned, handles 4 ohm loads, and is much more powerful than your 492.

Well, I can't buy it until I sell my VR12. And obviously I dont expect you to hold it for me.

So either my VR12 will sell before someone else buys your Amp, or not.

So it's just a matter of time, I suppose.

LOL, it doesn't look like anyone is jumping out of the woodwork to get either, does it? :( But I'm in no hurry. As I said, if the Panny doesn't sell, I'll just keep it for an eventual second setup.

Keep in touch DrP.

Yeah, and I dont get it, either. They don't sell VR12's anymore, and from what I can tell, it's a highly sought after Center channel. And hard to find.

And this is a darned nice amplifier at like half price. What is the deal?

Anyway, I think my initial price was a little high, so I lowered it for the second time. And that's it. Now it's just a waiting game. I'm not lowering my price again.

So let us wish each other luck, sir!

If this Amp hasn't already sold by Sunday, the 11th of June, I'll let you know at that time if I can buy it or not.

I'm running an Ebay auction for my VR12, and if I get a scam-artist buyer or a deadbeat buyer, I've got someone on this board who made me an offer after my Ebay auction went up who will get first dibs on the speaker at that time.

If Ebay fails and the buyer isn't interested on Sunday, though...

Anyway, I hope for your sake it sells before Sunday!

Cheers, mate!
