You'll be pleased to know that there is a class action lawsuit that has recently been settled by Panasonic on this model (and the LCX63). I have the 63, my friend the 13....which is how we know this information. That particular bulb failure rate was phenomenal. They extended the warranty of ALL units until 2007...so your warranty has NOT expired. 7,000 hours is quite good performance for these bulbs, by the way (in spite of the stated 10,000 hour bulb life).
If you've had 3 failures since you've owned it, you can even opt for a $1,000 certificate good for a new Panny tv of your choice (price must be >$1,500). Or, I believe they'll replace the set if you've had 3 failures. They'll pay for the cost of the bulb or replace it free if you have a single or double failure (with proof of purchase if you've already replaced it).
You still have time to opt in to the lawsuit. Final deadline for filing for your piece of the action is November 30. Go to
www.TVLampSettlement.com or email the Claims Administrator at
TVLampSettlement@gardencitygroup.com ....
Now go get 'em.
You're very welcome.
I accept all gratuities, lol.
