Hi Looking For Some Advice On A New Amp To Pair With My Definitive Bp2oo6 Towers, center And Surrounds. I Currently Have A Yamaha Rxv 1000 And Find My Mains Seem Under Powered. I Have Always Liked Yamaha, But This Receiver Has Been A Little Disappointing. It Is A Little Tinny At Times. I Have Been Reading Lots Of Reviews But Cannot Seem To Convince Myself To Lean One Way Or Another. My Budget Is Up To $3500 And I Was Hoping To Find Something With Two Hdmi Outs. I Have Two Hi Def Displays And Could Get A Splitter But Would Rather Have It All In One. Is There Something Out There That Stands Above The Rest. Love Your Input.

Hi Tyler,

I am in a similar position. With an 8 y.o. Sony Reciever (STRDB930) and Definitive BP7006's up front. With a $3500 budget your choices should be many. Especially as most of the manufacturers are getting ready to release their new models. Look at what Denon is about to release: http://www.audioholics.com/reviews/receivers/denon-avr-4308ci-first-look for about $2500. Or, the AVR-3808CI http://www.audioholics.com/reviews/receivers/denon-avr-3808ci-first-look at about $1600. Both of these new Denon offerings supposedly have 4 HDMI 1.3a repeater inputs which should meet most anybody's needs.

Myself, I'm intereseted in what the '08 Sony ES line will look like.

At any rate good luck.

I have definitive 7001sc's. I currently have an older yami but I am using the main out to a mcintosh mc 252 to drive them. I am getting an onkyo 805 tomorrow to replace the yami. It does 1.3, 3 in, 1 out. There are some models coming out later this summer which have 2 hdmi out. Their integra line will also be coming out with some as well. There are some complaints of lip sync problems but most users have had no issue. It sounds like an incredible piece for the money.

HEY THANKS, I am hearing a lot of good things about the onkyo series receivers, my parents had one along time ago and it is still alive in our cottage. I do want to get two hdmi outs or I guess I could use a splitter, space and presentation are a bit of an issue. Sorry i'm pretty green when it comes to audio and I notice a lot of people using mac's as a secondary driver. How exactly does that work, connections and interface with another receiver.
