Hey everyone here's my situation. I currently have a DIY Maelstrom-X with EP2500 amp. It is a very nice combo and plays very low. However I can't seem to get that earth shaking bass I seem to crave without clipping the amp or bottoming the sub. I was thinking of buying two old style ED A5-350 with the 300 watt amps and placing them underneath my LR JTR 12LFs which are about 3 feet off the corners of my room. Then I will move the Mal-X nearfield behind my couch/chair. Any thoughts on doing this? Would this be $1100 well spent or just pissing in the wind?
