Pair new sub with Bose AM10

I inherited a Bose AM10 with a house we just bought. It's hardwired into the walls and it sounds good enough that I'm not going to spend the money to replace it right now. When I have money later it's the first thing to go -- all my other equipment is up to date. I realize the stigma these things have but I want to put that aside to get some good advice.

So with that out of the way, I have been considering the purchase of a real subwoofer to compliment the AM10. When I get rid of the Bose later it will stay, so that's a consideration as well. With the way things are connected, it looks easy to simply disconnect the AM10 LFE cable from my receiver, leave everything else hooked up as is (the Bose cubes need the Acoustimass module, so it will stay), and route the LFE to a separate sub for my low frequencies.

I have a Pioneer VSX-01 TXH receiver and I am looking for a home theatre sub, but I also listen to mostly electronic music so I need a deep but very focused sound to hit all the bass kicks and drums. My room is about 20' x 20' with high vaulted ceilings so the last thing I need is muddy bass to increase the already present reverb. I want precision and I want something to compliment the lacking low end of the Bose. My budget is around $200 - $250 and building it myself is not an option -- it's gotta be out of the box ready.

Thanks in advance for your opinions!

In a room that size, something in the $250 range isn't going to really deliver quality, musical, deep bass unless you find something used.

I can see that. Let me change my requirement to "the cheapest sub that will do the job". As a side question, though, what's a decent all around sub for $250 in case I can't afford the real solution?

Have a choice between Velodyne and Dayton

I found a used Velodyne VA12BVX10 that is listed for $250. If I had to choose between the Dayton suggested above and the Velodyne (same price), which would better suit my needs?

Thanks!
