p6t to 7.1 theater setup - question

Ok, so im setting up my home theater. And wanted to get some input and what would be the best.

I have the p6t/i7 combo running. i have dvi to hdmi hookup for video to my 46in samsung for video.

but for audio. which would be the best route to cable from my mb to my theater system. fiber or spdif or a/v cables? I was thinking fiber. but not sure as i have not done this yet. wanted to get some feedback. thanks in advance guys

The OP is asking about connecting a computer to his receiver, but I can see how that's not easy to figure out!

To the OP:
Regarding if a digital or multi-channel analog connection is better, it depends on what your computer is capable of, and what your receiver is capable of. Lossless codecs like Dolby TrueHD aside, a digital connection is likely best for movies and music. Some soundcards will do special decoding for games, so if you want to play sounds from games through this, then the multi-channel analog connection might be better.
