A terrible story, but I have no sympathy for the mother. Almost every day, I get run off the road by a crazy parent trying to get their kids to school. They put themselves and others in danger. Running late everyday, then get up earlier! If you don't have the time to give a child proper attention, don't have any kids. She shouldn't be on the Oprah show, she should be in a jail cell. The victim here isn't the mother, it's the child who's dead. I swear, we should go back to tar and feathering people when they do things wrong instead of putting them on national TV.

I hate people ...

I guess that there's not really much to say at this point.

Edit: I'm horribly forgetful but guess what ... I opted not to have kids that I wasn't 100% sure that I could take care of.

You know things are bad when "personal responsibility" is now a catch phrase meaning that you're evil or heartless.

I love all of her excusses of what was going through her mind. I don't care if she was thinking about accepting the Nobel Peace Prize, YOU DON'T FORGET ABOUT THE CHILD IN YOUR CAR!!!!

What a stupid *****.

I have a busy life as well. But it comes second to my son. No excuse for that, none.

What really irritates me is the fact she's on national television discussing it. Are you kidding? If I did something that stupid I'd be hiding from every one. Not making excuses.

She ain't right.

If her equally busy husband had left the baby in the car, would Oprah invite him on?

That is such an enormously disturbing story to me. Letting one's child cook to death in a car - I can't even really articulate what's in my mind. The photo caption says that she still blames herself for her child's death. Well, she should - and so should everyone else. It's her fault. If I ran a red light, plowed through an intersection, and killed someone; I don't think that, "I just forgot to stop, my life is so busy, but I blame myself," would clear me of all charges and land me on Oprah.

In Tucson, people are arrested for leaving a kid in a parked car. It is also illegal to leave a pet in a parked car - a law that makes me very happy. This whole thing is just sickening to me.
