sorry I hav't registered yet since I won't have acces to high speed til tomarrow and dial up is to slow.

any ways, I have a pretty basic, yet highly sophisticated for a 16 yewar old setup. Im pushing 4 KLH toweres with 12inch woofers all around, aside from a KLH center and sub. out of a pioneer reciever.

now my reciever keeps giving me a flashing "overload" message and then it turns off. THis is of course at very loud volumes. I am assuming that this is a heat problem, and no, unlike most people I do not have anything over it, it has about 12inches of free space above it.

It looks like some 92mm computer fans would fit tight over the vents to suck hot air out, but I don't even know if heat is the problem.

any ideas?

I think you're asking too much out of that receiver and overdriving it.

All units do have their limits and I believe you've exceeded them. Be thankful it powers up again. Many aren't quite so lucky.

You most certainly could try the fans but somehow I don't think that will fix it but then again, what do I know? I've only been playing with this crap since the early 60's.

well i don't think its as fatal as you imaginge, it seems that the system shuts it self off, on the flip side, im not even at full volume, It will do it at -25dbs, shure its pretty damn loud, but I still wish it was louder.

but if you are thinking that it isn't aheat problem then is there any solution? and if it helps any it is a dual amp reciever, meaning it has a set B speakers, I think that the b speakers might have been affecting the independence even though they were not selceted to be on they made a nosie when the receiver powered up.

I've offered whatever advice/opinions I could.

But I guess you know better. I'm outta here. Unless someone else has any suggestions, you're on your own.
