Sure look promising w/fully balanced XLR connections. This new amp is the successor to the highly acclaimed 7125! Going for $1099!

....after several prolonged listening sessions we all concluded that to our ears, there is still something that remains intangibly smoother when audio is reproduced with Class AB amplification.

Perform the listening sessions again only this time perform them blind.

Do you mean Double Blind? As in a Double Blind Study, no? Just about anyone I know that has a passion for this hobby believe that Class AB amplification does sound better musically(SQ) than the Class D counterparts. Most prefer to use Class D amplification with subwoofers. Personally, I am NOT surprised one bit that Outlaw has decided to stick with the AB design. Of course, opinions will vary no doubt. However, if I were in the business to sell amps, then I would try to sell what most prospective buyers are looking for.

ATI makes some of the best speced class D amps available. Their offerings, at least on paper, seem very strong.

I was never discounting that Class D amps are not good to be used as say a full range amp. Just that many use Class AB amps for their speakers. I don't own either, just seen that Outlaw was coming out with a new amp and thought that I would mention it.

Didn't think you were. ATIs implementation seems to be strong with their use of the transformer and input stage. The hypex modules have strong track record so other than price , seem to be all around stout. The distortion levels reported by ATI are very good. From what I can tell they run the 2 channel modules bridged for high output. The new gen of the ice modules see to be strong as well, but haven't seen a lot of implementing.

Yeah, you really can't go wrong on those Crowns.

I used to run the Phil 3's with a Crown XLS. Sounded terrific. When last they were set up I was pushing them with a Threshold S/300e which is Class A to 50 watts and transitions to high bias A/B up to 150 watts. Polar opposites. Both sound excellent, but definitely a slightly different sound.

I'd love to see them take that model 5000 topology and ramp it up to about 250WPC. That would definitely be interesting.

Any chance we could get an Audiohaulics review with lab measurements once these start shipping? On paper, a 7 channel 140 WPC class AB fully balanced for $1100 is class leading!
