Outlaw 990 vs. Marantz 8500?

Well, I have upgraded my DVD player to a Denon 2910 (suh-weet!), my display to a Panny commercial model...and now, I need to upgrade my beloved Marantz SR-7000 5.1 receiver, which I use a pre into my Marantz 9000 amp (150 wpc). I love the Marantz touch with music. But the Outlaw has a few more features. Both have DVI, which I need. Both can be had for $1099.

Any comments or experiences?

Thanks.

I'm a Marantz guy too, but I'd probably go with the Outlaw since you already have a capable amp :)

Marantz 8500

Well with be being a newbie on this I can throw my two cents in.
I just picked up my 8500 and I can say its sweet more features and crap then Ihave been able to figure out, but coming olong quickly.

Have it hooked up to my lil Onkyo speakers sense I am waiting on all my klipsh speakers.

But for sound it rocks I took it over to my buddies house who is all deftch and it rocked them great and the sound was great also he is now ordering the 8500 also,

Have also seen three home theaters that have sense switched to the 8500 and these are monster systems dollar for dollar 8500 is hard to be in all our books,
Just my newbie oppion,

personally I'd stick with what I know works well.
nothing against Outlaw, I have heard many good things about them, but if you're happy with Marantz, stick with 'em.
Plus, that 8500 is a very nice receiver. I've had my eye on it for a while; I just need to find the cash.

You say you are waiting for your Klipsch. Which model(s) are you getting and what are your thoughts or experience with them. I am looking to purchase some Klipsch myself. Just curious. Anybody else have comments. Please post.

Yamaha rx-1600 or Marantz 8500

Im also considering the Marantz 8500. Found it for $999 but the Yamaha RX-1600 is $700. Didnt really know if the Marantz is worth the extra money. I am also concerned that the Marantz has DVI and not HDMI, I know I can buy the adapters but is there really a difference. Also, has anyone had any problems switching using the DIV on the Marantz from DVD to say TV because of cable box not being compatiable?
Thanks
TampaSteve
