Outlaw 975 questions

I'm thinking about buying the outlaw 975.

My first question is:

a lot of the time I play video games via my ps3 and at the same time listen to music via my computer. Will I be able to play the video from my ps3 through the 975 and listen to music from my computer through the 975 at the same time lol? I'm guessing the answer is no and if it is, is there Any way this is possible?

Second question is since the 975 doesn't have a USB input how would I play music from my computer using the 975 DAC and not my computers DAC. I have an ATI Radeon 7870 HD video card which I know will run video and audio through the hdmi which I know is digital but I'm just making sure.

This will work. Just make sure you are sending audio as Bitstream.

That depends on which PS3 the OP has, since not all of them can do that.

I would ask Outlaw directly also. The Emotiva UMC-200 has a few inputs to use the video from the last input, but that's only when using analog audio. I am guessing most units will have a similar limitation.

So as long as I'm sending the audio as bitstream to the preamp my computer/video card won't do any conversions?

I was referring to the video card HDMI audio :).
Yes, and as I mentioned, you likely can't get audio from one HDMI input while watching video from another, which is what it sounded like you were asking.

Actually you can! I called outlaw and the lady said you can choose to use video from one input and audio from another in the menu! She said it's an easy 10 second option that you can do with the remote! I am extremely excited to hear this because up until now I was having to change the friggin hdmi cable in the back of my ps3 every time I wanted to do this(which was like 10 times a day). I am now totally sold on the 975.

Good to know. I haven't actually tried that with different HDMI sources on the UMC-200, but you can configure various sources like that (last source for video) so that you listen to one and watch another. I only have analog inputs setup like that so I can switch between HDMI and analog on the same device via different inputs, and it works.

I'm not the OP
, I was responding to the second question. Valid points none the less.
Oops. Looked at post, not poster.
