I currently have a nice 2 channel rig with an Onkyo 805 as Pre-amp. It was removed from my home theate because of all kinds of issues I had with it (Sub out not working, weird static from left speaker while using test tones, etc..) I think I bought a lemon. Now the volume control does not work when using it manually. So, I thought about picking up an Outlaw 970 (ebay). However, I have read that the 990 may be better. Should I hold out for the 990. I hate paying for all the extra gadgets. Even with the 970 should it be better than my onkyo. I need a sub-out, bass management, and a digital input. Very hard to find a product like this without paying for all the extra stuff I dont need. Thanks!
