Outdoor under a Porch Audio

Is it Kosher to place a Receiver outdoors near my hot tub?

It would be completely sheltererd from the elements but outdoors.

Same goes for a cd player. The patio/porch is 12 feet wide and the system would be on the wall near the house.

I ask because I have had a system on my Dock behind a bar for a couple of years and it seems to be ok.

Keep it dry, sheltered from the daily dew, and it should be ok.

Your car radio goes thru a lot worst than that!

Don't electrocute yourself tho! Might be better of with a fm remote and the receiver indoor?

Good idea but I am thinking of using a Vintage Sansui from pre-remote days.

I will take your advice, put it up high like the one on my dock and maybe hook up a low voltage volume control near the tub.

My jeep cd player finally gave into the elements after 4 summers of no doors and no top, getting wet ever time it rained. Note the radio still works fine, just the cd player died. Keep it as dry as you can and try to not use it if it's wet and you should be fine.
