I am going to need a nice pair of outdoor speakers soon. I just want a pair, so they have to be pretty loud and yet still sound nice. Weather proof would be better then weather resistant as I don't want to have to take them down every night I use them.

My budget for these would be around $250. If I can get a good sound for less then that, it would be a good thing. :D

These speakers will be my 'B' speakers on a Marantz SR8400 (at least for a while, till I get an Amp)

Does anyone here have any recomendations?

A Goodwill shop just moved in next to my favorite membership store here in the northwest (Cascadia :) ). I hadn't been in one in years, so I decided to wander in and look around. I found a huge shelf lined with speakers of all sizes, shapes, and values...all for less than 20 bucks/pair. There were a couple of outdoor speakers there, but I opted to pick up a set of Sony 10" 3-ways ($11) to put in the yard for Christmas and July 4th (we choreograph our fireworks to music...eat your heart out, Californians, lol). We wanted loud for that event.

Otherwise, JBL makes some decent and inexpensive outdoor types.
