outdoor speaker wires

Dear All

Can I use regular speaker wires outside for an outdoor system provided I dont bury them and use waterproof connections to the speakers ?

Sure. I'd probably try and shield the connections from the elements somewhat, tho (my deck speakers are under eaves so weather never hits the back of the speaker). I used common speaker wire, tho.

I would use low-voltage garden lighting cable.

UV damage is a concern as well. There are a number of differences between indoor and outdoor.

Is there a reason you don't want to use an outdoor wire? There are very inexpensive options.
