Hey all ---
New to this forum, but I lurk a lot and have been searching all over, but really haven't found a good answer to the following situation:
I recently built a portable a home theater out on my deck. Basically, I hang a projector screen on my pergola, plug in a Mitsu HC1500 project, a Pioneer D-400V-K upconverting DVD player, and a pair of wireless AR-871 speakers. So, in a nutshell, I have something that works. While it serves the purpose, I have come to the realization that the AR-871, while providing sound, really has a poor range on lows and mids. In addition, I miss the surround effects, so with that in mind, I am trying to find a 5.1 system that would replace them.
I need to have something portable, that I can easily tear down and store away. So I would really like to avoid running a lot of wires on the deck area. I only have one electrical outlet outside, which is currently used by a surge projector for DVD and projector. My thoughts have started down the line of wireless 5.1 systems, granted I am sacrificing some quality for this type of system, but from an outdoor perspective, I don't need top quality, I just need some decent sound, with minimal setup/tear down. Would like to keep the budget reasonable (less than $500) as most of my theater has been DIY.
Been reading a lot of stuff, but really haven't seen any decent recommendations. What would you all recommend?
