I have been amazed by the quality of sound that can be produced from a good set of satellites and a sub...

i am in the process of doing some landscaping and adding a brick patio area and i know i want to add some outdoor speakers. i started thinking, are there outdoor subs too? ill eventually buy a cheeper projector and build a stand out of PVC to hold a sheet for outdoor movie night and maybe sports games so the 2.1 sounds would deffinatly be a nice plus...

thanks everyone

:edit: i found some subwoofer pairs, and on that looks like a silly stump... lol maybe ill stick with a good outdoor speaker and ditch the sub idea...

what OD speakers are good one? will they servive winter?

A sub, or multiple subs would definitely be a nice upgrade to an outdoor setup... An idea of the layout might be beneficial for us in determining the best place to put one, and the best one to put there.

You'll be amazed how much amplifier power the outdoors will suck up, especially with bass.

I'd recommend the JBL Professional Control 30s, without a subwoofer they are good to about 35Hz, and they have done especially well for me near salt water (which kills just about everything). Winter would be easy on them. Give them some good power and I think you'll be happy with just a pair, depending on the size of your lawn.

I haven't really found a outdoor subwoofer I've been happy with, and they can't keep up with the JBL Pros.
