OTA Antenna Help Needed

:eek:I am hoping for some real advice and not a sales pitch with this question.
I currently have a digital OTA antenna that is 6-7 years old mounted on my roof top. When the conversion of the TV signals went to digital my reception was great for the first 3-4 months. Then we started noticing that the reception gradually got worse over time. We have gone from receiving 10-12 stations crystal clear to getting only 1-2 stations on a regular basis. However, on any given day, we will be fortunate enough to get the 10-12 stations back and be crystal clear again. That may last a couple of hours to a couple of days. It's anyones guess each time you turn on the TV set as to which stations will be coming in. This happens to all 3 of the TV sets we watch. There is no difference between the TV's. The only interference that I could have would be a tree in the neighbors yard. But again, some days we get all the stations crystal clear. We live approximately 70 miles south of St. Louis, MO. The antenna we have is designed for the long range reception.
I don't think it is a weather related issue since lack of reception happens in great or poor weather conditions.
My question is simple; Why am I having inconsistent reception? The answer may be complex.
Feel free to call me directly if that is easier.

Thanks.
