looking at ORB mod2 speaker package to complete home theater system that includes a rx-v1600 yamaha receiver.

Does anyone have any suggestions.

I know that the Orb mod2 speaker received a good review by audioholics.com
but I haven't hear them myself.

I tried some out and liked them, but I ended up getting a Axiom M22ti's and QS8's. The Orbs look really nice and have generally good sound quality.
Their highs get a little harsh at high volumes in larger rooms,
and they also really need a *good* subwoofer that can reach
high enough frequency-wise. In the end, I decided that I liked
the overall sound of physically larger speakers that had more mid-bass
response and which weren't completely reliant on a subwoofer.
However, if you really want a sub/sat system, they seem
like a reasonable option. Plus, they are really pretty.

I found that the price point was the same for the orb mod2 speakers package and the axiom epic grand master 175 package. The front stands for the orb speakers were too expensive (approx $300 each). This made me think twice and I ended up with the axiom speakers also.
