Optoma HD72 problem

Hi all,

I just joined the 21st century and got digital cable along with the Scientific Atlanta 8300 HD DVR. Miraculously, I don't have the HDMI problem with it - mine works just fine. The problem I do have is with the way the projector works (HDMI from box to Yammy receiver to projector). Every time I change channels on the cable box, there's a small lag (which everyone seems to have with digital cable). The projector interprets that lag as a loss of signal and it starts to search for a new source, resulting in a blue screen and annoying on-screen display that says it's "searching for source." The problem was worse at first because it would hunt through the inputs (HDMI-Component...) for a signal, but I used the "signal lock" function in the menu to lock it on HDMI, so the interruption isn't quite as bad as it was initially. There's still an embarrassing gap there that doesn't seem to go away. Sometimes it will even start to display the channel, then cut to its blue search screen, then cut back to the channel, while leaving the "Input found" box in the corner for an annoying long time (thus blocking the cable's on-screen info). Anyone have this issue with Optoma's projectors? Any thoughts for a solution, aside from perhaps switching to component cables? If this persists, the WAF (reinterpeted as "wife annoyance factor") will skyrocket and digital cable will go away.

Cheers,

Kevin
