Options to stream Superbowl?

I go to NBC and they say I can download a "NBC Sports App" to watch the game.
I hate to load apps like this (essentially single use) and it doesn't say if, or how much, I will be charged to watch the game.
Are there other alternatives?
I cut the cable years ago and have a Sony BDP-S590 that I use for streaming content. Alternately, I can HDMI my Samsung tablet (or a laptop) to my HT.

The antenna will work, but reception has some "digital glitching".

Good luck with finding streaming options. They will all cost.

Maybe the antenna won't be so bad. The signal-to-noise ratio of most football telecasts is pretty poor even when over-the-air reception is good. With all the added commercials and bs for the superbowl, I'd expect a lot of unwanted noise .

Yeah, I hooked up the antenna and it is better than I remembered. Not perfect, but better than 2 of the 3 stations we got when I was a kid!

Just curious, how far away are you from the broadcast tower?

I'm about 15-20 miles distant from most local TV towers, and, not surprisingly, I get excellent reception. Digital TV seems to work better when the signal is weak than the old analog TV signals did in the past.

I still have neighbors who insist cable is "the only thing that works". They may have other reasons for wanting cable, but inability to receive local TV broadcasts can't be one of them.

About 35 miles from downtown Atlanta (not sure where NBC is) and I am on a a hill so get pretty good reception of about 40 stations. As it happens NBC is the only station I know of that doesn't come in clear.
Also, I am using one of the Leaf antennas. Not sure how much more I could get out of a "real" antenna. Generally, I don't watch much network so am happy with what I have.

Kurt, you can check out tvfool.com and see the direction to the towers from your house. You may be able to orient your antenna better for the game.
