Options for 3D with older AVR

I think it's been a bit too long since I've been here and I feel really out of touch with what's going on in the home theater world.

I bought a new Samsung 7000 LED 3DTV. I'm looking to get 3D on BDs however, I'm still using my Onkyo TX-SR875. Some people have recommended that I output the audio to the AVR via optical and run an HDMI cable directly to the TV. The problem is that I do not want to give up lossless audio.

I'm wondering if there is another way to do this short of having to purchase a new AVR? I've been looking up HDMI switches, but the results seem to vary for each setup due to the uncertainty of how the handshaking works.

Help?

Your only options are to get a new AVR or to get a BDP with 7.1 channel analog outputs.

Aren't there players with dual hdmi out? One for the 3d to the tv and one for the lossless audio to the avr.

I assumed he was using the PS3. But yeah a player with dual HDMI might work too.

Did you check out this HDMI splitter when you were looking around? Assuming it doesn't have the handshake issue, it looks like it's what you want.
