Is there a way to fix a broken optical-cable door or make it usable again?? HELP!

oops!

well. it actually did not fall off--not that I saw it fall off.

i beleive its stuck inside and the cable does not "sit-in". it keep coming out. its an onkyo tx-sr602 receiver...

Yes, as was posted above, carefully look with a plashlight and see if it is there indeed, then a tweezer or a pencil eraser may grab it well enough to dislodge it.
