Oppo DVD through AVR HDMI Colorshift Problem

4806 arrived yesterday evening and I made it through the Auto adjustments. First connection was my oppo, using the supplied dv-hdmi cable.
Selected DVD / HDMI 1 and Opti 1 / sound Input. Video passes through and plays but all the video is mostly awash with green. I called oppo today and was told possibly the HDCP was causing the color shift. I asked if I should get a DVI-DVI cable and try that and he said it would be preferable.

1. Has anyone used the Oppo through an HDMI receiver w/o colorshift?
2. Could the DVI to HDMI cause a problem with HDCP?
Both units support HDCP.
3. 4806 appears to have a component to rgb conversation in the OSD, I have not tried changing this but not even sure if this effects the HDMI. Appears to be only RGB per Manual:
Manual Page 99
When connecting to an HDCP compatible monitor equipped
with DVI-D terminal using an HDMI/DVI-D converter cable,
the signals are output in RGB format, regardless of the
“Color Space” setting.

Any help would be appreciated or even feedback that have had similar problems.
Thank you
Jason

Oppo and HDCP

Based on reviews and their site, I don't think the Oppo has HDCP. On a few of the reviews they listed this as a "feature" because it would work with older non-HDCP displays.

Thank you for the response, maybe I have misunderstood what Oppo means?
http://www.oppodigital.com/opdv971h_FAQ.htm#A1
Q: Does OPDV971H support HDCP compliant digital video displays?
A: Yes, the OPPO OPDV971H does support HDCP compliant displays.

I assumed that with that statement before I purchased the dvd player it would work with the my receiver as well?

I will pick up a dvi to dvi today and let you know what happens.

FYI for anyone considering the Oppo that has the 4806. Tried using the DVI out to DVI in on both units, color shift problem still occurs. These 2 units together will not work via dvi or hdmi, unless I have missed something.

Going to see about trying another DVD player that has dvi/hdmi support and will follow up with that also.

Second fyi is the 4806 appears to not output enough via sub out to allow the buttkicker amp to function. Tried on my old Kenwood 3080 and it functions perfectly.

3rd FYI per Toshiba (11-17-05) 62hm195 and similiar models accept 1080p input. Tele: 1800-631-3811 OPT: 4

Output for buttkicker

You might be able to increase the sub output level calibration on your receiver to increase the voltage of the line level signal to your buttkicker. You will have to turn down the volume knob on your sub to "re-balance" it with the mains assuming the LFE output is shared with a sub and buttkicker.

Thx for the idea on adjusting the line level. Page 64 and 113 of the manual shows a channel vol. adjust with +/- 12db adjustments. I'm still learning and reading the manual daily. After the auto eq and preferred flat for the room eq. Hopefully adjusting this will get the desired effect and the room eq doesn't override the channel volume. Guess I will find out this evening.
Thank you
Jason
