Oppo BDP-95

I received a catalog from an online retailer that contained a little surprise. I know there was speculation there would be a 93SE version and well it looks like it will be called the 95.

A bigger price jump than the 83SE as it looks like it will retail for $979.

Specs so far include 3D support, online streaming (Netflix, Vudu, and others), dual HDMI outputs, balanced stereo outputs, improved power supply section with a large toroidal transformer and the latest ESS Sabre DAC chipset.

They told me about this when I called and asked about the 93SE, but I only mentioned that it would be a new model here because they were fairly tight lipped about it. They said it won't be released for a while and no concrete info is being released yet. As I mentioned in the 93 thread, this model is separate from the 93 and the 93 cannot be upgraded to a 95 like you could from the 83 to the 83SE.

In comparison to the 83SE, the only differences I see are the 93 core and balanced stereo outs. When more details are released, I'd guess we'll know more.
